Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai Charitable Trust provides support to Ngā Uri o Te Ātiawa ki Kāpiti & is guided by principles of preservation & protection of the spiritual well-being, dignity, & integrity of Members of Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai. The Trust advocates for the advancement of social, cultural, health, environmental, economic, & educational aspirations for Members. The Trust is an Iwi Mandated Authority & pre-treaty settlement entity, actively involved in their settlement process. 

Ko te tūranga mahi | About the role:

You’ll be responsible for guiding the Trust through the ongoing development, growth & management of their services & activities, including management of commercial & non-commercial resources.

Ko ngā wheako ōu | About you:

With a proven track record of working successfully within te ao Māori where you developed systems & processes to support the achievement of iwi aspirations, it’s likely you’ll be a qualified lawyer, accountant & or business administrator.  You’ll know how pre & post Treaty settlement entities operate. With significant experience working collaboratively with & for Māori Trusts, you’ll be a visionary leader with competence in:

  • Leading & managing within te ao Māori
  • Strategy development
  • Treaty Settlement process
  • Te taiao
  • Hauora
  • Fisheries quota management
  • Finance & investment
  • Housing development
  • Central & local government relationships
  • Securing funding & grants
  • Te reo Māori me ona e Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai tikanga
