Janine Huxford

It has been a privilege to serve on the board as a voice for our iwi. I am a granddaughter of Sylvia Rangiauahi Tamati (nee Mitchell) and Te Puni Kokopo Te Paea Tamati.

I am currently employed as Manager, Global Events and Education Agents for Education New Zealand Manapou ki te Ao (ENZ), the government arm tasked with building international education opportunities for Aotearoa New Zealand.

I have extensive experience in project and contract management and am proficient in articulating creative ideas with sound rationale. My Superpower is managing budgets, resources, and stakeholder relationships and expectations for successful project outcomes.

 My contributions in the last 2 years have been directed towards streamlining processes, financial administration, communications, and rebuilding relationships with our marae trustees.

My key focus for the next 2 years is:

• continuing to develop and refine the finance policies and procedures with full transparency across the different business units,
• collaborating on the creation of strategic plans, setting organisational goals and objectives in line with the trust deed and Ātiawatanga,
• implementing a communications strategy.
