Notice is hereby given that the Hui-a-Tau / Annual General Meeting of Te Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai Charitable Trust Board will be held at Whakarongotai Marae, 4 Marae Lane, Waikanae at 10.00 am on Sunday 15th December 2019.


–  Confirm AGM minutes 2 December 2018,

–  Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai Charitable Trust Annual Report 2018/2019,

–  Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai Holdings Ltd Annual Report 2018/2019

–  Wharekohu Fisheries Ltd Annual Report 2018/2019

– Proposed amendments to the Trust Deed

–  Appointment of Auditor/Accountant, Election of Trustees and General Business.

Notice is also hereby given that Te Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai Charitable Trust Board seeks nominations from adult registered members to fill three (3) vacancies for the position of Trustee, and one ()) vacancy for the position of Alternate Trustee.

Nomination forms:

Position description and our governance manual are available on request from the Trust Office, 11 Elizabeth Street, P O Box 509, Waikanae 5250, (04) 293 1538 or by emailing admin@teatiawakikapiti.co.nz.

The nomination form must include the signature of the member being nominated, the nominee’s full name, address and contact telephone number, together with a declaration that the nominee is not a bankrupt, has not been convicted of a dishonesty offence, and a brief statement of work experience and objectives relevant to the position of Trustee. The nomination form must also include the signature and full name and address of the adult registered member making the nomination.

Completed nomination forms must be returned to the Trust Office at the address stated hereafter no later than 5.00 pm on Monday, 11 November 2019: Te Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai Charitable Trust, 11 Elizabeth Street, P O Box 509, Waikanae 5250.  LATE NOMINATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Details of nominated candidates and voting papers will be sent to all adult registered members at their last known address in New Zealand. Voting may be by postal or electronic ballot received before 5 pm on  Friday 13th December 2019 preceding the Hui-a-Tau / Annual General Meeting, or in person (but not by proxy) and before 10 am on the day of that meeting. In the event of a vote being taken the two candidates with the greatest number of votes shall be elected Trustee(s), and the candidate with the next highest votes shall be elected Alternate Trustee(s).

So that membership records may be updated, members are asked to notify the tari as to any changes of address of family members. This is essential if a postal vote is required. Early registration of those family members who are now of 18 years of age would also be appreciated. New applications for membership may be made at any time, up to and including the annual general meeting.

I therefore declare Andre Baker, Rawhiti Higgott and Kara Kearney to be elected as Trustees for the Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai Charitable Trust. Alby Ellison is declared an elected Alternate Trustee for the Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai Charitable Trust.

The voter return percentage was 25.00%, being 138 votes received from 552 eligible electors, of which 54.35% voted by post or at the AGM and 45.65% voted on the internet.
